DISCUSSION: NaNoWriMo is just two weeks away! I'm geeking out. This is my first go at attempting, and fully committing, to writing a novel, and I really couldn't be more excited about it!
Three months back, I considered signing up for NaNoWriMo, just to see if I could spew anything worth writing. So I went to nanowrimo.org and made an account, just in case I got any brilliant ideas.
Well, that moment arrived about 2 or 3 days ago, hence my absence from the blog. I've been swamped in details and world-building and characters from my imagination, and it's been glorious! I honestly had so many things scheduled for this week, but I put it all on the back burner to work on my story. (Well, that and I've still been obsessing over Once Upon A Time on Netflix!)
I found my story. It's been slowly developing and basically stewing inside my mind... and it keeps getting better. I'll give you some insight into my idea: there's an alien war, and humans are put to the test: do the right thing, or let an entire alien race perish?
NaNoWriMo sounds like a lot to take on. A month of writing, and it's suggested to write an estimate of 1,666 words a DAY! Challenging? Yeah. Impossible? Nah. I've taken these past few days to prepare my story and get the basic plot ready for next month. And I've actually already started writing one of the scenes!
Have you ever participated in NaNoWriMo? Did you reach your goal of 50,000 words? I want to hear your success stories with NaNoWriMo! (And even if you have a fail story, if this isn't the type of thing for you - tell me about it anyway!) Did you create an amazing novel, or did your idea flop?
Tell me your previous NaNoWriMo experience(s), and if you're participating this year!
